2 Year Pictures

This morning we after our walk with the neighbors we got Samuel all dressed up and looking nice and headed off to Penney’s for his 2 year pictures.   I knew it would be a challenge as he is 2, but what I did not expect was for the 6 month old ahead of us to change clothes 4 times and then take 30 minutes to choose their portraits.  Our appt. time was 11:20 which I thought would be perfect because we’d be done about 11:40 and then we could head down to Chick-Fil-A and have a nice lunch. Instead we finally got called back at 12:05.  He did a great job in the waiting area which had been completely taken over by the 6 month old’s hairbows, hats, tutu’s and dresses.  We found an empty little corner where we read books and played trucks.  He listened to me and obeyed every request the first time.

BUT, by the time it was our turn for pictures he’d had a enough sitting still and being patient.  It was pretty much a disaster from the start.  Then when I was trying to look at the pictures and pick out the ones that we wanted, he took off running and headed straight out the door and into the parking lot.  What do you do in that situation?  You can’t exactly spank him in front of 10 other people staring at you.  So I was that mom, you know, the one that’s red faced and flustered and wrestling her child across the store while he’s kicking and squealing.  Then I continued to wrestle him in to the stroller and strapped him in so he couldn’t get away. All the while my jeans, which I  bought just after Samuel was born and are slightly too big, are threatening to fall to the floor and Samuel is grabbing at my shirt and I’m pretty sure he’s showing my bra to the world. But I’m 17 weeks pregnant, maternity clothes don’t work yet and everything else is too small so I have to make do. I picked the three pictures where he was half-smiling, tossed my debit card on the counter and asked her to please skip all of the collage, special color stuff because I’m not going to get any of that anyway and headed out the door as fast as possible.  It was not our best moment.

Anyway, here’s a link to the pictures that the lady did manage to take before he melted down.  https://viewimages.jcpportraits.com/recentalbum

Oh, Stef! That sounds like quite the adventure. Boo for them running late. At least they spelled your name right (ha!). I tried to look at the pics, but it wanted an email address and password so I wasn't sure what to do. I'd love to see them!
