Birthdays Galore

We’ve had a busy few weeks in the Burns house.  We ended January with my birthday and then ten days later Samuel turned 4.  He is constantly reminding us that we can now call him our four year old.  Here are a few photos of our celebrations:

Samuel’s birthday fell on a Saturday this year so we decided to do all of the celebrating on the same day.  Not sure I’ll do that again…it was a very busy day.  But the birthday boy had a blast so that’s what counts!

We started off the afternoon with a friends party.  He asked for a motorcycle theme this year.

Here is the four year old wearing his “price tag.” He’s still wearing it on occasion.  Best $0.97 I ever spent.

Pin the headlight on the motorcycle.  Thanks to Daddy for the cool poster!

Pinata time!  We were trying to go for a safer version which did not work so we ended up pulling out the plastic bat anyway.  Hudson killed it with one good whack!

This was a crucial moment.  He insisted that he was not four until he blew out the candles.

After the friends party the family came over for dinner, more cake and more presents.

Sister also joined us.  She spent the afternoon with Uncle Cason and Aunt Cori so she could nap and someone else could hold her so that I could party with the friends.

And just like that, Samuel is four! Four is so much easier than three!  He has really grown up in the last few months.  He talks like a ten year old, quotes Ed Bassmaster, takes a flying leap off of anything in sight, wakes up every day asking if we’re having friends over and generally keeps us laughing.  He is a sweet-hearted little politician and we love him!

And we’ll close the post with Molly in her dress that Grandma Mary made her for Christmas.
