Well, we had 40 people at our house last night to send off some good friends who are moving to Virginia on Wednesday. They are getting out of the Army and moving back home after 3 1/2 years and 2 long deployments in Colorado. We are happy that they get to have a break and go back home but we will miss them here! On Friday I decided we should clean up the basement and make it child-friendly so we could send the children down there if it rained and they couldn't play outside. So I decided to try Samuel out in the ol' walker. Huge success! He's a fan of being upright these days. He can play with toys on the tray and look all around.
Back to the party--it did rain, and they had a great time running in an almost empty basement. Who needs toys when you have a carpet remnant? It was like an open gym. They all asked if they could come back and play. Good to remember. And now we have a clean basement and an almost weed free back yard. I should plan parties more often.

He needs to grow a little bit before the feet touch the ground. At least he's immobile like this!
Whoa! What's going on? His new trick. Smiling a big toothless grin until the red light comes on then you get this look. Nice. I'll try taking some picture outside this week without the flash.
Time to make a grocery list and change the laundry during the last few minutes of naptime!
